Advances in Photonics Materials and Devices is a leading source describing recent advancements in photoelectric materials and devices. This collection of research articles highlights the broad range of advances presented at the recent second edition of the PATIMAT. The present volume is dedicated to developments specifically in photonics materials, structures, and devices as well as novel smart media for optoelectronic devices, advanced metamaterials in nano photonics, nanotechnology and plasmonics pertaining to the fields of photovoltaics and photoelectrochemistry. Conventional topologies could be dependent on woven families of light, with demonstrations evolving into momentum and aspiring spectral control. Among these pursuits, numerous experimentally accessible milestones in the physics of controlling excitons in self-assembled semiconducting CDs, modulation of surface phonon polaritons, development of strongly confined resonators on periodic nanostructures such as nanowire arrays and high refractive index contrast tuning of polarization properties in metallo-dielectric stacked structures are highlighted. In conjunction, reports on nanocrystalline solar cells, optimal coupling conditions for surface plasmons, elucidating detailed structural evolution of designed volumes, routes towards vapor phase synthesized strong ferromagnetism in colloids, and possibilities to concentrate and harness electromagnetic waves at nanoscale are laid out as solution strategies to substantially advance photonics technologies through metamaterial engineering. Multidisciplinary synergy among researchers of diverse backgrounds; advancing their individual and collective intellectual or photonic horizons; and fostering new research initiatives are emphasized.

Описание книги от Suhas Bhandarkar
Photonics is a critically important technology. It complements maturing micro-electronics to create new directions that impacts a wide-ranging array of other industries. From a materials standpoint, this technology uses essentially all the classes of materials and seeks to hybridize them to create new devices. These proceedings showcase the transformation of photonics from a telecom-aligned technology to a much wider sphere of applications.
