There is no question that nowadays businesses need different approaches and new methods in the field of management, including operations management. This is a widely known fact. But it is evident that there are no ready recipes for managing process flows, while increasing effectiveness and efficiency. On the contrary, issues keep arising, as they did in 2012 when Arnaud Bellet was appointed APMG European Managing Director at IBM with the responsibility for taking the analytics and operational intelligence products for sales, supply chain and other functions beyond any distance from their origins. Arnaud then established a special cross-functional team in IBM's Paris headquarters to work directly with groups of leading industrial customers and on projects to solve specific analytical and operational problems - those related to the resource aspects of IT services, in particular, those concerned with managing well-known peaks in usage data.
