Mongolian Braised Beef

Ingredients:

450 g beef, cut into small pieces

1/4 cup corn starch

2 teaspoons olive oil

1 onion, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon minced garlic

3 large green onions, cut diagonally in 1.5 cm slices

1/2 cup soy sauce

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon minced fresh ginger root

1/2 cup soy sauce

Cooking:

Place sliced beef and corn starch in a resealable plastic bag.

Shake the bag to evenly coat the meat with corn starch.

Let stand for 10 minutes. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Fry the meat, stirring, until a uniform brown color is obtained, from 2 to 4 minutes.

Place onion, garlic, beef, green onions, soy sauce, water, brown sugar, ginger and soy sauce in a cauldron.

Simmer for about 4 hours. It goes well with boiled rice, can also be served with steamed vegetables.
