В то время, пока главный герой спит, кто то аккуратно открывает окно, затем под окном открывается человек. Белый человек с лицом, проходит в комнату. В руках у него белая сумка. Люди понимаю друг друга без слов. Заканчивается книга встречей главных героев
Walter Legat, alias MANN, has been burning a candle for 6 months straight looking forward to his one and only visitor for the next 10 years, who is also inviting Walter to Spain, very much.
He wishes his friend would just call instead of sliding through his mail slot stuffing a bowed head with flowers from a large beach map labeled MANN's 5th Stern (4 children, no wife, secretly hoping). "But we're friends!!!" Walter cries at the mirror. "Let's be friends! Be nice! We can talk about anything, as usual."
Its already 11 PM and he previously decided to make himself invisible. Walter tries to sound nonchalant, like he's busy and not home in his bathrobe waiting for his new friend. The doorbell rings and the visitor than, checks the mail in FULL view of the home ransack host. The receiver seems relieved and quickly composes a cheerful face despite all evidence to the contrary, but Walter has already grabbed a pillow and stealthily hops toward the front door. Yesss, it could be other anonymous person. Ignoring the loud heterophonic clicking and knocking, he jumps upon the interloper and shouts, "I see you!!!", with the cry a 1970's monster movie superhero voicing. And slaps the person hard on the shoulder, adding to confusion. It appears to be a stranger. An old man? He validates the address without surprise and questions if Man is available in an annoying fashion as though Walter was expecting his face off classic sci-fi movies.
Walter's shots are slightly off from who he imagined and indeed it's his old colleague and school enemy, Max the Brain, again. Max also makes it clear that this is no half civil appointment and must hurry back home as their cooperation meddles with many things in the universe. Walter then too goes into smiling mode until interrupted by another figure passing the threshold which causes Walter, even less so than earlier, to faint in terror and embrace the floor forgetting it is shag carpet.
Max gives the surprised Walter a playful jab in the ribs, and Walter reminds him they are friends and informs him it isn't smartly received to slap a Brainschool pal. Together they'll move through the house causing chaos of epic proportions. A sight you won't want to missed. Plus you get a cute companion forlife. In return \*winks
