Fashion 18 Century

Classical fashion is characteristic of the 18th century.

At the beginning of the century, women, as a rule, wore two dresses at once - the lower (deaf) and upper (grodetur, magnificent, oar).

Women's dresses were sewn from silk - moire, satin, brocade, etc., decorated with beautiful ornaments.

Ball gowns of that time contained a train, a necessary accessory of such a dress was a fan.

An obligatory part of the women's costume of the 18th century was lace stockings, or knickers with lace.

The interior of the dress was a pannier, which was fastened to a corset tightly laced at the back.

Toward the end of the century, there is a tendency to narrow the upper skirt and expose the body.

Again, fancy dress dresses are in fashion, black shoes become dress dresses (brown - walking, red - only for the nobility).

The entire 18th century is characterized by an abundance of cosmetics - lipstick, blush, perfume and powder (however, this is also characteristic of 21st century fashion).

Men's suit, compared with the period of fashion of the 17th century, almost completely loses its femininity - lace and ribbons disappear.

However, men continue to wear stockings.

The main parts of the men's suit are tailcoats, culottes and camisole. Silk and velvet tailcoats decorated with embroidery are quite popular. The shirt does not change at all, compared with the fashion of the 17th century, however, now it is called frill and cuffs.
