Public Policy and Politics in Georgia is devoted to one of the most dynamic economies and societies in the former Soviet Union - Georgia.\nFor advancing an appropriate economic recovery period, many scholars predict the country's rapid diversification, restructuring of the economy, and the re-engineering of its political systems. Albeit a growing number of significant discussions and developments, fluent understanding on whether Georgia will manage adhere to these expectations of a smooth and successful transformation process, remains relatively scarce.\nAgainst this backdrop, the contributors to this volume straddle both theoretical and empirical perspectives of sovereign political economy in an effort to deepen our understanding of public policy in this fast-changing political and economic development in Central Asia. In addition, one achieves thoroughness and relevance of this read by including comparative views from other countries within the region.\nIn addition to macroeconomic assessments, the discussion also touches on current state of sectoral governance reforms especially in relation to economic recovery and democratization. Attention is given to climatic and environmental policies, regional connectivity, trade and privatization, poverty management, social safety nets, education, civil society organizations, human rights and ethnicity in public policy from a comparative perspective.
