Is a cook a male profession? It is generally accepted that men are the best cooks.

And it’s hard to argue, because in the list of the best chefs on the planet (and there are about two hundred of them) there are not a dozen female names.

Why is this happening, because the kitchen is a traditionally female occupation? Although this is not surprising, since recently women have successfully mastered the construction professions, for example, install seamless stretch ceilings.

It's not about abilities, but about career opportunities.

The chef of the restaurant is, first of all, a position (although you can’t do without talent). Unfortunately, so far there has been a trend in the world over the preference of male candidates for leadership positions.

When it comes to performing skills, hard work and skill, women are chosen. But, as soon as it comes to career growth (from cook to chef) - here, alas, the so-called "glass ceiling" works: if the boss is a man.

The culinary skills of women have been honed for thousands of years; recipes and traditions of preparation to this day are passed from mother to daughter.

And even the very concept of national cuisine, if it was preserved in the era of globalization, is only through the efforts of women who have stood at the hearth for centuries.

Famous chefs themselves admit that they made their first experiments in the kitchen under the guidance of either mothers or grandmothers. So do not recklessly believe the hackneyed phrases, but rather add them: "The best chefs are men who are taught to cook women."
