“An Officer and a Maverick” or simply known as “The Curious case of detenctive Dreamy Russ Ramblances” is a story written by the author Teresa Southwick.
This book features the familiar character Lani, also known as the Bar maid at Ace’s bar. Where once she danced in 4th of July celebration, she ended up getting arrested by her crush “dashing” Detective Russ. From that day forward, Lani has wished in taking a step back to her previous life, where she knew nothing of trouble. Yet, dreams may never come true, and this is how she would have settled her worries, had it not been for her nemesis “Russ".
While Lani is reluctant to going back to old job after all those romantic excitements, Russ would almost lose his bravery when mentioning anything business-related. While their lack of understanding spreads rumors amongst their coworkers, it also leads to some other issues such as both the barmaid's twin brother and former partner appearing on campus or a whole gang of strangers who were vaguely identified as being on an undercover mission.
Whatever their connection is, we all know by now who this pair of tough guys is that would defy normal rules of “expectation vs reality” by embracing everything fresh and bold while taking away the ordinary circumstances from their lives.
