The chapters of The Western Mediterranean form an intriguing story about the birth, arising and continuous course of this interesting world since the end of Western Roman Empire till our day. Instead of treating history chronologically and linearly, the narrator takes a distinctive theme-based approach, making exciting stories through his own individual vignettes and cases, as well as professional accounts that make the reader very closely aware of the unique life in both Western Mediterranean regions since the period of Roman Empire in Europe, all the way to the current unfolding of immigration disputes in these Mediterranean waters, which is starting to become critical at this very moment. This book tries to highlight the development in religion as well as the extent of language while also mentioning the ongoing interplay and conflicts between the Christians, Jews and Muslims living on both coasts of the Western Sea.
