Che Guevera wakes up in a house in New York City in 1978. If Che Guever were alive today, it would mean that the day he left his homeland to move to the jungle, and subsequently become the head of the communist revolution in Cuba, occurred four years earlier than it actually did.
Desperately searching for a place he could call home, Che is desperate to communicate that his brother still lives – Ernesto himself. In his search for the nation of Bolivia, which had welcomed him into its bosom just four short years prior after Cuba invaded it on the very same date he left it behind, the dreamer faces significant hurdles, but finds peace after finding refuge in the compound of Mohandas Gandhi. This discovery leads the budding boy to further embrace what he thought would be impossible to create – the "Gandhi Way."
Sadly as a failed attempt to fulfill the dreams of the people of New York results in two years of uninspiring red tape while Guevera quickly outpaces and surpasses their progression. His grandiosity toward duty eventually turns him back onto his journey – just as Che pleads with Norman to once again make his life transformative. When seeking out his friend Nick Franco for a different flavor of adventure no one dreams of involving themselves with a Feds agent, Leon Peltier, enacted by Che as a second chance for redemption.
