"Cucumber on Tomato" is a play written by Nikolay Lakutin and is designed for an audience of five, six or seven grown ups aged 18 years and up. The play revolves around a problem common to many married couples. Whether you're expecting dinner guests or seeking a good time at home with a partner, the message of the one-hour play is simple, but profound.

The problem is a matter of crisis that no middle-class husband (or wife) can escape from. Unfortunately, no matter how willing a man may be to admit that he sometimes has them thoughts, it would be nearly impossible not to wonder to oneself whether someone's marriage is doomed even before it's done. Or, conversely, hope that if we spend more time together, things will work out. While it seems paradoxical that spending more time working on relationships helps keep them afloat, that's the idea behind the comedy "Cucumber on the Tomato!"

Not surprisingly, different couples approach the problem differently. The woman in one relationship is more aggressive than her husband, while the other wife is far more assertive and intelligent than the wife. These playfully disguised archetypes allow the reader (and the audience) to watch each couple experiment with different approaches until they hopefully find a new perspective on the contentious subject of family life.
