About the Author
Nevil Shute was a British-Australian writer who was born in Liverpool, England in 1899. After studying at King's College, Cambridge, he joined the Royal Navy during World War I. Shute went on to write several novels, including *"The Spy Race"** and **"The Cat's Conspiracy".** He also authored a number of short stories, plays, and screenplays.
Before his death in 1962, Shute spent most of his time living in Australia after moving there from London in 1928. He continued writing throughout his lifetime until his final years.
