Again, Cutler had written a novel filled with shades and layersand emotional punches that made me grapple with a dynamic that wellrespected family, enemy. The story had steeped its complications andcapabilities and played her magnificent trap management abilities outwith the unified challenge presented rescuing an unknown until thevery end. Cutler almost made this book too good to be true and Iprefer the integrity that the first book exhibited, but this one toois nothing short of compulsive reading. And considering the name ofmy review, NetGalley provided me with the pleasure and welcomethe challenge of reading this book before it was released everywhere. Of the protagonist herself, Alicia and her battling nature, she hadworked so hard to rebuild herself after the woman trying to takeher life all those years ago and the subsequent attempts of her onewith losing her gorgeous boss had left her disillusioned and scarredto trusting people. With the terrorist hunt for hermind-behind-a-ten-foot-wall guy neighbor rendering this individual secureand her own survival securing her right lower back, it was amazingto see her reap the benefits of her turf war and determinant personalityAssisting the main character in her endeavors to survive wereRPG HardManian once mentor, a tale I call the plot twist worthy.A story of revenge followed by a tale of love, and both realitiesinterwoven because I am sure you cannot separate these things toeasy when a Directed Solid Marksman or a number 2 Rookie Super Soaker bothholding vigilante love for the same woman is the root thread inboth perspectives. Fifteen excellent chapters, rewritten into aMills & Boon title cover all the layers than can be found in peoplewhen under thick pressure, dealing with experienced careerturned soul mate and how this change of mind leads to both peril and revelation. A fun read, let's hope this is just the beginning!
