Manuel Casanova's "Las islas griegas" is a monologue of the protagonist, who tells the story of his life. It is the history of a passion. Diego Forcarella is a dark man whose dreams have been frustrated and he feels as though he has always been dragged along by events. He studied law but didn't finish his studies, works in an insurance company acquiring a modest social level and marries a woman whom he values but who doesn't stir up any great passions in him. He has two daughters and leads a domestic life resigned to none except occasional extramarital adventures. Everything changes when he meets Beatriz, a mysterious woman, whose passions wake up Forcarella's most hidden instincts. The passion for Beatriz will disrupt his entire life structure, and to keep her, Diego will reach the limits of degradation that will lead him to crime.
