The first house belongs to Amelia, her mother and her sister. She finds herself being forced to marry a man she does not love after her father is unable to pay their debts. Elisabeth has similar experiences but in her case, it is her younger brother that has debt that she must cover in order to save his life. Eventually both women encounter wealthy gentlemen and change their views on marriage; the only problem is that neither man is free. It is a story about love, sacrifice, family and duty, Jane Austens most famous work to date.
