Contemporary Political Philosophy. An anthology. The collection contains the texts of the most prominent philosophers of various countries that include: Plato, Aristotle, Hegel, Kant, and Mill; liberal political philosopher John Rawls and Karl Popper. Great attention is paid to 19th and 20th century German philosophers such as Brechts, Heidegger, and others. Among American representatives, the following figures are noted: John Dewey, James Warren, Nozick. A new section includes the works of modern Russian philosophers.
The structure of the selected texts clearly demonstrates a good knowledge of existing political traditions. The unique feature of this book is the context in which the views of the authors are discussed. There are both intersections of ideas and their contradictions, that can be overcome. Unlike other works, this volume is written such that each topic has its own chapter. It is easy to go from one topic to another without the need to look through numerous pages of abstracts.
