This book provides an analysis of the functions of various proteins in plant cells, namely the regulators of cellular reproduction. Cells can only be made by dividing existing cells to ensure that plants or other organisms continue to grow and replace damaged cells. Kinases conditionally activated by cyclin appearance help cells return to G1 followed by G0 and they do this by controlling the concentrations of specific growth factors activating enzymes linked to phosphorylation. Without such control, cells cannot replicate their pools of genetic material and in doing so the human body would cease to evolve. Much of this methodological knowledge has been acquired through research undertaken as part of joint international projects. This work is complemented by reviews of papers focusing on the methods used by researchers studying plant tissues to reveal their principles, sometimes highlighting areas where the outcomes may need further field study or computational modelling. This book investigates the questions of why plant cells replicate their nuclear DNA and the mechanisms in play, as well as figure out how the timing and duration of DNA replication for each chromosome vary according to its function.
