The date occasionally appears with the number as in "Vol. 7, No.2 dated December 26, 1842", or with a " series" (literally typesetting arrayed in a row or column, specially for printing) date "No. 80 series of 100 dated April 8, 2015". Another rare structure without digits at all is "Special Supplement," e.g. " American Magazine, Special Supplement February 51: No. 1—King Coal Camp edited by A. F. Murphy". Some issues have a glossary or index as a separate supplement for owners. Sometimes you might find these abbreviations inside: "edition," which means "paperback reformat edition" of a previous hardcover version, "e." stands for a a setting, "epigr." is an epitaph or an "epigram," "f." gives the page allocation for an address, "Footnote." relates to the footnotes that as numbers at beginning of many paragraphs, "Frgs." stands for fragments or phrases, and "Ilustries" are illustrations. Note also that more modern sources attach volume numbers instead of parts, since this construction is considered less complicated overall. "November 3, 1705" as a date with the number, rather than with another date.
