15 июня 2014 года российский велосипедист Егор Ковальчук отправился из Томска в свое первое кругосветное путешествие на велосипеде, начавшееся с границ России. Его трехлетний путь охватывал три континента и более 50 стран, объезжая все точки мира, используя самые короткие и интересные маршруты. Он проехал более 54 тысяч километров или 33 420 миль с общей длиной пути 108 тысяч километров.
Ковальчук проехал через Европу, Азию, Африку и Северную Америку, посетив множество интересных мест с их уникальными достопримечательностями. В своих кругосветных поездках он участвовал в ралли "Дакар" в 2015 и 2017 годах. Когда он завершил свой путь в начале августа 2016 года, его маршрут включал 128 городов в 31 стране. Итоговый маршрут пролег через: Россию, Казахстан, Монголию, Китай, Лаос
Еnding point: Tuvalu, Pacific Ocean. 5 participants, 4 supports. This is my short summary of what I have seen, felt and achieved during my round-the-world cycling trip. I have been doing cycling tours for a long time. But in the 21st century my interests turned to the highest ninety degrees and I decided to bike across the globe roadless. I am a part of the Kuva Cycling Community now. As Kuva stands for the Sea of Tranquility, my chosen name on the trip was Kevit — after the Polynesian nickname for Tuvalu. In this story, I share many colorful things that happened to me on each bike leg and explain my choices along the way. Actually, it was an adventure ride on one of the most challenging tracks ever. For arriving the destination, me and a team together must biked from Tomsk (Russia) through East Asia, Solomon Islands and to Tuvalu — Bikini Atoll, the most isolated place on the earth. Should I succeed on this expedition with 33 420 mile distance, I would become the first biker who ridden the world's circumference! And our community has 3 experienced athletes and beautiful women Adelina, Alena, Sofia, Olga (and 2 volunteer supports) who did along.
