This book is a romantic comedy about a Marine named Ben Hawthorne and civilian shopper, Ainsley. They meet one Christmas Eve and share a night together which turns out to be the start of a beautiful friendship.

Ben Hawthorne is an elite marine officer who is on a mission to make a civilian girl's Christmas wish happen. He is strict and disciplined and has never before broken any rules. Seeing Ainsley's icy cold exterior and how unfriendly she is to all of the men that he meets, he begins to change his mind on this whole idea. However, when he sees her doting on her family and giving out presents to her neighbors, Ben realizes that she deserves more than just a few salesman handing her items.

As Ben gets to know Ainsley better, he finds himself falling for her warmth, kind nature, and sense of humor. She makes him realize that there is more to life than what his career and duties lead him to believe.

The romance between Ben and Ainsley is sweet and heartwarming. Their banter and playful competitiveness make them seem like soulmates despite only having met once that evening.

I recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun and lighthearted read.
