Anne Herries is the daughter of an English schoolteacher and hairdresser, who, at the age of fifteen left school to work in her father’s shop. After that she helped run the shop with her father, until marrying. She ran a hairdressing saloon of her own for some time, before returning to writing and helping her husband operate his antiques business. Her first success arrived where she wrote under the pen name of Lynn Granville when her books were accepted by publisher Robert Hale in 1969. Shortly after, her novels were picked up by Mills & Boon and her debut Devil’s Kin came out in 1991. While writing 13 books with Mills & Boom before running out of steam, Anne offered her hand to mainstream fiction much to the disappointment of fans. She went on to publish several other works under her own and others pseudonyms while still keeping writing with Mills & Bomb. All the while, the family-owned publishing company has remained firmly in Anne’s heart for its warm atmosphere and the incredible support of its workforce. As writer for one of the most successful publishing companies of all time, Anne makes wonderful fortunes and receives much recognition.
