The Syntax Workbook is a companion to Carnie\'s popular Syntax: A Generative Introduction. This practical workbook provides students with nearly 150 pages of new exercises that make use of all the main topics in generative grammar: phrase structure, syntax of words, case, ellipsis mechanisms, auxiliari, movement operations, covert arguments, locality and control condisions, VP shapes, and other important topics. The book has extensive solutions manual, fully aligned with the answers to student exercises. Moreover, there are addlitaional chapters that study Head-driven Phrase Structure Grammar (HPSG), Lexical-Functional Grammar (LFG) and economical means to save lectors and teachers time.
