The book "Die Volke van Africa" by Andrei Tikhomirov analyzes the diversity of the African population in terms of language, socio-economic, and cultural relationships. There are many language groups on the continent, including Semitic-Hamitic and groups speaking from the western Sahara to the Nile Valley, which were previously classified as "Sudanese". The new linguistic studies showed that these languages do not have any close ties and some of them are similar to Bantu languages. This book also discusses the smallest group of non-Saudis in South Africa, the Madagascar people whose language belongs to the Malay-Polynesian group
