Book "Wife by Design", by Tara Taylor-Quinn, offers an insight into life of a nurse practitioner struggling to maintain a career while supporting a disabled brother and nursing a three-year old girl of her own.
Lynn Duncan is a single, low-income, married woman who earns a living by providing vital care to women experiencing pregnancy, labor, and post-birth complications. As a valued member of the nursing staff at a women's shelter, she absorbs new ideas, processes learnings, and instructs aspiring nurses of emerging demographics.
Slowly, Lynn is plunged into a shifting reality when she meets Grant Bishop, an open-minded, disabled gardener who unknowingly needs a hands-on physiotherapy support for his sibling. As the narrative unfolds, it becomes clear that Grant harbors an intense affection for Lynn and sets on her daily life a formidable barometer not to be ignored at the loss of love. Lynn reciprocates, but their emotional connection couldn't withstand, not through distance, but distance that would often make them inaccessible. Moreover, the overwhelming burden to prioritize and anticipate their activities and resource choices makes a point of having a strong stand in facing difficulties.
The book tells a heartfelt tale within the crisis and transitions, narrated as the main characters struggle to create and sustain intimate companionship while making sense of what love really means. Through Lynn, Quinn reveals different perspectives being held by the downtrodd
