"The Ransoms" by Jacquelin Thomas is a love story about a candy store owner and a self-made man. Coco Stanley, owner of the high-end candy store Coco & Chocolate, can't believe it, but this time it feels like the launch of her business has happened.
In an unexpected way, Ransom Winter enters the world of Coco as a compassionate advisor for at-risk teenagers in an elite area of Los Angeles. While this new path may seem strange and unfamiliar to Coco, she finds herself increasingly intrigued by Ransom, who is, in addition to working with youth, a small business enthusiast himself and creator of an amazing music.
Upon meeting, the two partners over a cup of café paciograde, Coco and Ransom will discover many insights about their personalities and withering doubts about their relationship begin to unfold. For Coco it is already clear that Ransom is the person she likes, and while such feelings may not be so readily true for Ransom himself, his well-meaning intentions come across and he manages to break down all the defenses of Coco in a matter of minutes.
Since the couple must go their separate ways, the decision will be made on the day Valentine's Day, which is then shaping the entire plot of the novel. We follow the romantic path of a relationship on which, even if everything seems as impossible as Coco is sure that it can work, the spontaneity and emotional capacities of both characters are the greatest advantages as they start to understand each other more completely and the resulting love makes them grow.
