No title, no author locally assigned in the library catalog, publisher uncertain. A long listing of statements and paragraphs appear to be composed by many hands, but a critical eye will identify the work as a literary magazine of sorts. Various. The Mirror of Literature.Amusement.and Instruction. No 544, May.26[contemp 19]A great diversity of ideas, thoughts, and expressions is represented here, veering from serious topics - 'The Present State and Prospect of the University', for instance, proposes policies to strengthen an academic system - through quixotic attempts at advice - 'A Manuscript on the Conduct of his Rowdies' observes the drawbacks of chair-carrying - to the sheer ridiculousness of an entertainment puzzle - 'An Enigmatical Story for June Silences' defies logic with enigmatic clues. Mostly, however, the volume is made up of whatever frightened contributor could muster to send in a thing or two. For better or for worse, among that lot are some old and new friends, though merely a few of these brave souls have contributed appreciable pieces of prose."E Stone," Professor Langston, wizard in his class at the Circle College of Magick, swung his staff in the air as it swirled away particles of light. With his eyes fixed on the historical scroll before him, he grew increasingly aggravated until his notched cheeks began suppurating with static energy."Priceless!"Bellowed the wizard, grabbing an ancient tome from a bookshelf behind him where it had been shelved before infighting at the college forces such indignities. It was a moment shared between the oblivious professor and the Traveler restrained by metal arms against the cold stone walls in what appeared to be a medieval, frigid hall. The potion was working, albeit slowly, rendering the storyteller unconscious and rendering them helpless at least for now.Though this meant little to the scribe with talent near unmeasurable travelling back and forth between realities bent on rewriting history to amuse themselves could spare no time for the compiling of considerable knowledge and manuscripts along the way."Now we are here!" The entire room vanished in an instant and the professor's eyes returned to the scroll in front of him.The very scroll itself now engulfed in flames, dramatically lighting the hospital room it once peacefully adorned.Professor Langston caught a glimpse of a small brown package sitting on his night stand after the room sank into darkness.A slender pencil and a note sat within.
