The Knights of the Cross, or Krzyzacy, is a historical novel by the Polish author Henryk Sienkiewicz, published in 1900. The story takes place in the 15th century when Poland and Lithuania were being threatened by the Teutonic Order, a powerful military organization from Germany. The novel follows the adventures of two young knights, Zbyszko of Bogdaniec and his uncle, Maćko of Bogdaniec, as they join the Order to defend their homeland.
