Книга “The Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds” является одним из краеугольных камней в химии гетероциклических соединений.
The Chemistry of Heterocyclic compounds series, founded by the Pergamon Press, is one of the fundamental resources of information for researchers concerned with organic chemistry, bioorganics and of course medicinal chemistry. With renowned authors drawn from numerous nationalities, the need for a globally accessible academic chemistry text has gone beyond the lives of individual authors as its upkeeping has always been an important part of their research agendas. Thus popping up again on bookshelves, version after version, often the Chemistry of Heterocyclic Series becomes indispensable for prospective students keen to enter and stay engaged in a highly competitive academic field while providing valuable information materials for experienced faculty members. A cornerstone publication for college chemistry lab manuals for over three decades now, Organic Chemistry 3rd Edition Blue Ridge Publishing's Bob McLeod once aptly described it as 'a misnomer to suggest that it doesn't contain useful information'. The concept of a complete treatise on heterocycles by itself cannot be overemphasised given that hundreds of books helming individual chapters are necessary for the monographic representation of myriad, ever expanding chemical species. Roeper's introduction to the second edition, dated 2002, was succinct in its clarity: 'The potential value of comprehensive books embracing every concomitant detail of heterocyclics is so large that their further development and continuous updating remain essential.' To crystallise this notion, we cannot overstate just how indispensable the chemistry of prestigious structures and synthetically important heterocycles remains. In this exact spirit, 10 volumes of complete heterocyclic coverage – a centrepiece reference on the various possible chemical structures of these fascinating core structures – came into existence: Volumes 8-9 now find themselves as essential tools, presenting exhaustive two levels of coverage of the pyrazole chemistry to all researchers desirous of a comprehensive overview. Edited under the Thoseans, Raghavan's group, titles "Pyrazoles" and "Reduced and condensed pyrazoles", complete with exhaustive chapter length coverage, must undoubtedly be only one part of a larger puzzle that encompasses the pinnacle of research undertaken by many, including and especially worthy of commendation, the coordinators of the Project, who correctly observed to Pergamon's original eponymous magazine in 2015: 'With contributions from all corners of the world, there is value here for the vast research community in heterocyclic chemistry'.

Описание книги от Группа авторов
The Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds, since its inception, has been recognized as a cornerstone of heterocyclic chemistry. Each volume attempts to discuss all aspects – properties, synthesis, reactions, physiological and industrial significance – of a specific ring system. To keep the series up-to-date, supplementary volumes covering the recent literature on each individual ring system have been published. Many ring systems (such as pyridines and oxazoles) are treated in distinct books, each consisting of separate volumes or parts dealing with different individual topics. With all authors are recognized authorities, the Chemistry of Heterocyclic Chemistry is considered worldwide as the indispensable resource for organic, bioorganic, and medicinal chemists.
