This book concerns a number of theoretical and practical issues related to the research and investigation power of customs administrations as enquiry bodies, the organisation of operations of special enquiry units within the Federal Customs Office of the Russian, the special features of evidence and offences in customs fraud cases, and the use of procedural enforcement measures by government and private parties involved in official criminal investigations, as well the grounds and procedures for the compulsory ordering of complicated enquiries by customs officers against mandatory investigatory procedure offences, and the principal directions for collaboration between enquiry bodies and investigators.
The book deals with the activity of the Customs authorities in Russia functioning as special inquiry bodies tracing the changing trends like the criminal procedure competence of Custom authorities so as the development of summons units in the Russian Customs.
