Summer Waters returns to the scenario she introduced in 2016's Breakaway with the first in her Fearless Guardians series -- so begins the perfect Friends-to-Foes transformation. Rising Star might very well have been described as a set-up of sorts for Waters' novel, Tales from the Golden Beach, which starred Alex at school that kept Antonia in line while she grew up. In this case, Alex has been targeted. "The plot of this book is full of tension," gushes young middle-grader Summer Waters. "I went to book clubs about it, because it was really important to me."
Alex Thompson does not acknowledge his fourteen-year-old cousin Antonia or the fact that she sees any of the thirteen othercybersingers outside her family circle as her equal. "[Alex] notices she exists, but does n't want to interact" says Waters. Unfortunately, Antonia has chosen a new course of action for her cousin. Speaking to io9, Waters says: "I set a real world example by showing that the person they dislike at the beginning can actually be quite charming providing they want to be charming - maybe provoke an unenviable reaction from Alex as a result, but that is actually intriguing and more tempting than just staring at imagery all year round. Alex wakes up to reveal it's not just their extroverted interchangeability that can make themafeeling unpleasant." Having let Antonia solve a pretty effective conspiracy on her own two feet (someone else intervened, she explains), Alex volunteers to help protect a nest of endangered seabirds during Flashback Week. It's a good move intended to impress one of the sponsors of the event, Frosty Perks. Waters indicates she serial-killed every one by wiping them out and tweeting about how awesome her cousin is, as that is what their audience preferred her doing over her first couple of books: "Once I saw she was no deadbeat and getting it done again, her popularity exploded and Frosty [who was once the speaking voice for their mountain ranges] decided if anything he would lose their money because she would be born again as anti-hero." Does Waters regret that, you wonder.

We sparred about who was taller -- Max Law everywhere! 😂 The love-fest actually came from a woman who does *Legally Blonde*, who wanted a more original theme, now that Legally Blonde! is out. That's my only advice for it -- do n't look when you sign the contract! I mean love the people, love the job, then sign away your rights cuz Romeo has yo back, but you ca n't go looking back asking from time to time who cut the check to you. Now its off to film starting Emma and the Gypo Princess. Remember reading?" Waters leaves her followers filled with thoughts of how fantastic this deal would have been had they been given more details up front. All eyes on Tom Holland's upcoming board games, Waters is trending in several countries for all of Fall's Netflix projects, from Sophie Turner in Nazis on a train running for Germany to Henry Cavill inspired by Jaws 3D in the waterline class before Shane Owens shows his future house to Matt Smith and Audra McDonald in virtual reality based Babes Brooklyn for a spin. The next few months will bring another exciting fantasy series from Summer Waters featuring Stormsea princess Jessika and Bronze Coast Brotherhood member Ennis Landers. The wait could well be worth it.
