Regency Scandals by Carol Mortimer is a series of historical romance novels set in Scotland during the 18th century, centered around characters caught up in the scandalous world of Regency England. Each book focuses on a different main character and their journey through the wild ways of society and one another.

First up is "Some Like It Wild" about Rupert Stirling (The Devil), a famous playboy with nefarious interests. He's known for his tricks in and out the bedroom of Pandora Maybury (the Duchess), an only child with black jewels in her name (a terrible taboo in that time period). When she's in danger, Rupert is quick to save her and find himself caught at the centre of her secret. But is he willing to go down for it?

Next we have "Shock to Shock", about Lady Genevieve Forste (the Duchess). She was married before by her father on the promise of a marriage to Prince Albert (also in the book). Genevie feels ill and abused, and takes her lustful side of what she does not believe the prince will grant her. The chaos of finding true love doesn't begin to express how complex this story is.

Lost HeartsValentin St Cyr, Marquis of Crowborough certainly seemed the perfect choice for the duchess's hand in marriage. Unfortunately, before their wedding day, he went missing without leaving any word…Only a scandal at Boulogne gave him a plausible explanation, said soigneur having found him asleep off on the coast – but then Valentin walked away from her flat a very different man. Did he really go mad (or have somebody set him up), or was his disappearance a ghoulish deception?Suspicion immediately fell on an enemy of the Sandfields – the elegant Count Of Love had accosted Madam Milady before her disappearance, only to find the davering wife hid in the vanity below beds – unmarryable as it might be, when no one mentioned her at all when he offered Valentin plenty of money to marry his countess! The question is, behind whose perfumed countenance does the jealous Romani女 really stand? This Book about Regency LifeGwendolyn Craig totally understands what it means struggling to provide for oneself, an orphan dragged astray into the streets, and almost forced into prostitution herself. So when her admirer Edward Cunningham proposed, she eagerly agreed to the match planned by her guardian, in order to gain a settled status and a genuinely kindes, sensible husband herself. Until one evening a stranger – a Cornishman with casts around his neck and his fair hair shining green – objects to a disagreement in a notorious Regency abuse, and finds himself carried away literally yelling across the room by pipers of axes ending one Ghastly night, Edward is gone, mrs Craig is alone, and mr White is no use at all.

And with outrageous exploits both in and out of ladies' bedchambers, my, has he earned it!Risqué behaviour is beyond Pandora Maybury, widowed Duchess of Wyndwood – although with her dark secret she’s far too well acquainted with being the subject of ribald gossip for her liking. If only the Ton knew just how innocent she really was… including Rupert who, after rescuing her from a compromising situation, seems intent on wickedly compromising her himself! Some Like to ShockGenevieve Forster, widowed Duchess of Woollerton, knows only too well the need for bravado. After a miserable marriage, she’s wary, but deep down yearns to pursue temptation…With his air of danger and elusiveness, it’s little wonder that Lord Benedict Lucas is known to his close friends and enemies alike simply as Lucifer.
