Once again people have left me horribly confused after reading a book and having to come on here and figure out what it's really about sometime hours later! Maggie Cox's One Desert Night is packed with endless plot twists, lots of historical romance, mike and maja outfit at the cabin scene, and it made me want a desert vacation like Kalief Browder after having read it...and this book has way less Milla Jovovich! The events of One Desert Night involve a self assured, know-it-all, quiet, rich American woman (Gina Collins) develops a plan to fire up the heart of courage that is set to be given to all the men in the Sheikh's house in order to pull off an auction for it. Shehri (Ameer), who isn't supposed too need the Heart Of Courage after having around 80 wives and concubines in his lifetime, believes he doesn't need this heart, because he's been lucky in his marriage and has never fallen in love before, or seen himself hurt until Tina Collins opens his eyes to a whole new world of emotional - if not always physical intimacy. I wouldn't be able to describe this plot twist without wading through spoilers online or re-reading the book again myself right now (like I'm going to do for the third time in two weeks, to cope with this awesome concoction of Arabia, fiction and fantasy). If you haven't read Maggie Cox's previous works, One Desert Night isn't quite for you. It demands from the reader a detailed knowledge of Arabian culture so you can appreciate the authenticity of the characters. And of course, given how unpredictably this story plays out (and can just as easily go the other way round!), you'll probably just want to start The Lion And The Jewel and body-swap with Gina (Shehehri's wife), run the gold mine in Arabia whilst dealing with Osman, her ex-husband who didn't get to have five wives....something tells me the books are pretty similar.
