A Collection of the Best Essesays, Numeral V, December II, I828. By Various Authors. INTRODUCTORY.—We are informed in a note at page 397 of the Index to the Ninth Edition, that Arthur Helps Winckleworth's edition of Lydgate's Comedies, or rather a volume of his Tales, was published in 199 Nos. Bond-Street, London, in the year 1495. The Portfolio contains an Autumnal painting, executed on Pence-Pie'r, which bears the inscription, "Figure of Death, Septuagenarius." Dr. J.
