**Night Watch by Suzanne Brockmann** The story of Wes Skelly, US Navy Chief going on a date with Brittany Evans. A stunning and beautiful single-mother who happens to be Brittanys's sister-in law. What awaits our hero Wes and Brittany as they are catapulted into a web of evil and deception. Put together, these intricate threads lead us down a path of dark turns where the deep, often buried desires of an unsuspecting single mother begins to take hold.
However, Wes is secretly in love with someone else. Brittany is also in danger and, due to Wes's actions, she becomes further entrenched in a dangerous network of lies and deceit. As the two begin to navigate the dark underbelly of Los Angeles in search of the truth about what happened, they learn that even the people closest to them are capable of the most damaging acts.
*The novel focuses on the evolving relationship between Wes and Brittynes as they deal with the unexpected happenings in their lives.*
We see a bit of suspense and drama unfold with the characters on the run for their lives and trying to uncover the deceptions and lies leading to their downfall. Without giving away the true ending, you'll have to read until the end to find out but it makes for an excellent thriller with much at stake between the main characters. I do recommend it if you enjoy historical fiction or suspense with an unavoidable plot twist element.
