The title is "Man in a Million". Who is such a great man in Maple Hill anyway? This book starts up when Paris O'Hira, believing her mother has lied about her father to keep her from embarrassment, sets out on a quest to find out who he really was.
This reveals a whole new history, one that becomes the basis for much of the story and sensitive issues. We see the rise and fall of characters, some extremely realistic, whilst Paris tries her hardest to withstand the strong attachment she is made from many young men around.
As Paris struggles with her emotions, as well as her new found knowledge, the author once again manages to tug at our heart strings through her sense of humour and incredible character developments. Plus, we are given enough detail to feel like we really know these characters inside out early on.
Muriel Jensen's writing is as interesting as it is beautiful and she never fails to deliver a captivating story filled to the brim with so many different challenges faced by these individuals. The story in this book also includes another allure for the reader, because as we discover new information about the characters and their relationships with each other, we also discover the love and family connections that simply make all the more impactful and enticing.
Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with "The Story of Paris." I found the leads were unforgettable and fascinating, as their personal and increasingly complex stories evolve. I did find that some elements of the plot reveal too much too soon and some resolutions seemed a little rushed, but overall this is a fantastic love story that should appeal to a wide audience.
