The story begins in Athens at the end of the 19th century. Princess Lorena of Lucciana meets a legendary pirate character, whose name is Vasco. But, she falls in love with him and then the real Vasco shows up to her. However, it turns out that Princess Lorena is the second life of Vasco's mother. Vasco returns to Istanbul, unaware of what had happened to him. As a result, Princess Lorena dies. A hundred years later, Vasco is alive and works in Istanbul as a restorer. Taking work on the tomb of Prince Ibrahim, he uncovers the secret of his own past. We follow the tale as it weaves itself together, keeping us up to date on where things stand and what the characters learn next.
The prose in the book is carefully woven, making you realize the plot as if you were watching a movie. Even if you have read a lot of Greek novels, they will take you for a surprise - there will be so many ingenious twists and turns on the page. At least a few pages per day are worth reading. The book continues through the centuries, ending with the devastation caused by the Trojan war.
