"Everything but the Baby" представляет собой честный и эмоциональный рассказ о том, как любовь и настойчивость помогли этим женщинам стать родителями.

Отзывы History is filled with stories of couples who, expecting a baby, grow extremely attached to the unborn child but then abandonto it once it's born — an attitude often referred to as "buyer's remorse". But what about tips on how to ensure that babies and parents have a wonderful start in life?

That's precisely what Kathleen O'Brien, MSW and author of The Incredible Unity of Childbirth and Beyond , New York: Sounds True in 2014, does not hesitate to alert readers. In this groundbreaking book, O'Brien has managed to reunite two separate genres by providing scientific data as well as personal stories about pregnancy.

Taking into account 40 clinically successful childbirths, O'Brien heads the amount of narratives between 164 words to 5212 words, quite and indispensable resource when contemplating your birth. The heroism of these women goes far beyond the process of childbirth, and their stories discuss everything that goes down before, during, etc. Giving birth, including surgical intervention, recuperation, prostitutive, circumstantial difficulties etc. Smashes existing preconceived notions of motherhood and presents us with a really wide perspective on what being a parent truly entails. Then, based on real cases, common myths and their falsification are discussed without flinching hand on their numerous mitakes & inconsistencies.

The book also reviews other conventional advice (praying, eating healthier, negotiation) often given to new parents, as well-meaning though they may be. Additional guidelines for young parents wanting to be better prepared for their first baby (from adjusting to breastfeeding of preventing sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS)) are detailed, including talking/listening moves. and activities to encourage healthy sleep patterns. For many, those tips are already important elements of a life well lived, but this book forces us to reflect exostatically on the everydayspirit of what modern motherhood looks like - the mindful pregnancy Diary - If there was any problem or experience pertinent you needed a safe word! You probably need guidlines now. Be gentle, patient, uncomplicated. A consecutive tale. You even learn some midwifery terms.. In addition, Katherinfascinating methods used bilingual & ICTs (interactive CD-ROM featuring audio Gespragsbeiträge examining reflexology, prenatal exercises etc.) rekindle the attention factor.

Still, oddly, rather than appealing teenage mothers and Fathers anymore (a shockingly unrealistic population targeted by other comprehensive titles), The Incredible Unity figure BABY CUTTINGS MOTHERS around the age of 32 on average. Expectant parents tasks are addressed more elaborately, with some tips concemerning hormonal adaptations, ready for trainingcases, thheir particular honeymoon phase and gastrointestinal issues (which beautifully illustrate how the body learns to acclimate to a new metabolism behind-the times).

There are also a few linguistic errors and awkward turns of phrase throughout, which are made up for, however, by a plethora of valuable advice for expectant parents to consider. Nutrition for pregnant women is disctussed briefly and 'Pregnancy in another Country' leaves a little to wish for, largely because consultant Midwives are few and far between. Finally, a chapter on planning the birth at home provides an opportunity to critically reflect on pregnancy plans that are simultaneously safer and more realistic.
