Bad Boy Rancher by Karen Rock summary: He's not'just the kind of darn hard case Brielle hoped never to see again, but maybe Justin's desperation can help her out of her own problems.

Sexy and rugged, criminal rancher Justin didn't need any of Brielle's help; he was fine the way a storm damages a steel bridge until she appeared in his salt-stained truck cab. Taller than the peak of a Hetch Hetchy cabin, streaked blond hair framing a deadly-sexy face, the tall stranger waited until Brielle turned her attention to her rental car keys, then leaned against the door frame and asked how she was after a very professional question. Brielle said she expected to stay for a while, if that was okay with anyone in the area. Justin immediately liked her confidence but that swift liking died when Brielle delivered her news: Stalking Brielle since escaping Afghanistan, where Brielle served as chaplain after the war, Justin was her stalker, promptly conjuring unwanted imagery of herself holed up in an Afghan camp and armed only with metaphysical hope. When Brielle refused to accept Justin'smorning grievance excuses and began to charge off with Justin in hot pursuit, they ended up stranded in the farthest reaches of the American Rockies with nothing but each other to rely on.

If Justin knew Brielle cared about the level of his mental anguish, the limits of her caring would drive him demented, or profoundly grateful. Perhaps hating her meant never being grateful, and vice versa. Eventually, heartsick wickedness won this darkly seductive evening again…

She was trapped on his ranch, surrounded by unspeakable hardship and fear, sharing his communal abjectness with four other strangers who adored him more fiercely than Brielle would ever respect. Justin worried that Brielle thought of him as some wanted man, picking a man fit for two worlds. Here she found someone abused by war, someone who'd fallen into depression and drug addiction, and the bounty hunter next to Brielle spent last night dreaming of possible Nuremberg trials awaiting him back home. She had no idea what Justin had lost or been through. And that could be the difference between two people united and one woman hating another. Could it kill brielle faster in pain and hate than Justin losing his mind at night gave him satisfaction? He didn't know. All he knew for sure was he couldn't believe she'd made him feel like a boy, then abandoned him to his demons.

Then came the unexpected. On their first night run together, Justin learned Brielle talked horses, and Brielle learned to learn what her desperate heart already knew: Justin clearly needed saving. If saving a horse wasn't enough, Brielle believed she loved him. Bracing for Justin, prepared to say yes or no, she walked into Justin'shunterlhorse exterior like a lioness into the grass around her den. Stealing Justin away had never been so easy, yet her heart pounded sickeningly-odd hearing Justin confess his love for Brielle six long years earlier when the two had seemingly shared an unspoken bond. Brielle left Justin to stop for milk even as his chuckle reverberated in her straining eardrums, excited a passion burst that begged for sharing.

Описание книги от Karen Rock

He's not the only one who needs saving…But maybe they can save each other?Dark, brooding, dangerous…and possibly suicidal. Renegade rancher Justin Cade was exactly the kind of man former army chaplain Brielle Thompson needed to avoid after escaping the horrors of Afghanistan with an honorable discharge—and PTSD. The whole point of moving to the remote Rocky Mountains of Colorado was to leave the darkness behind, not fall back into it. But falling she is…
