The Book:
"A Not So Respectable Gentleman" is a novel by Diane Gaston, in which the protagonist, Leo Fitzman, returns to London after a long absence. Despite the fact that he is able to maintain his place as a regular at card tables with his pleasant personality and a good fortune, his attention is drawn to one certain ravenhead who also suffers from wealthy, selfish women forcing them to marry. Leo's new task is to discover the lady herself and intercede before her destiny gets jeopardised. He has no idea how well he will cope with this daunting mission but the situation makes him realize that he has more important things to do in his life and that Mariel can always find better options.
