The Blackwell Companion is an invaluable reference work for anyone wanting to study the work of this most fascinating philosopher, Martin Heidegger. In fact, it offers a comprehensive reworking of his main ideas (starting from Being and Time) within a clear, concise, yet completely enlightened framework for interpretation as well hearing critical aspects about his views.
The introductory chapter by Lautbach outlines the author's own method of interpretation and how it has influenced the content of the subsequent chapters. This is my personal favourite section because of its attention to detail, with Heideggers brief collaboration with the National Socialists critically explored, and the influence this had on his entire work.
