The storyline is straight-forward. There lives an intensely greedy old character named Scrooge with whom many dark thoughts come true. He thrifts on everything and often isn't pleased about anything, desperately trying to earn every penny in existence. It was on one such gloomy day before Christmas that his fellow named Marley appeared at his doorstep. This would otherwise have amounted to nothing, for they were estranged since seven years. However, Marley brings him the message of these coming spirits and Scrooge begins to reflect on life's importance and worth. These thoughts cohere into action as in moments three spirits appear to him. In the early light hours of a new day, Scrooge transforms into a joyful-hearted old man who values everyone around him.
