Лев Толстой написал этот роман в 1873-1877 годах - за это время его успели опубликовать зарубежом (именно перевод на английский - "Anna Karenina" - вводит в заблуждение; вообще-то роман назвается по-русски "Анна Каренина") и прочесть все люди в России. Это очень большой и сложный текст, для меня главное в нем был роман Левина и Кити и негодование Анны - оттого, что жизнь не удалась. Хороший английский перевод 1963 года, который гуглит Максима Долгополова, команды русского "Арзамаса" и прочих приличных людей (есть еще версии Поповой и Балухатого и еще десятый перевод, названия которого я не помню; есть сокращения до нескольких глав, которые назло Анна Карениной я буду искать у Б.Бурзянова и рекомендовать везде сам).
