"Koch Industries: Capitalism for the Rich" by Christopher Leonard is an investigative piece about the origins and rise of America's most powerful family corporations. The author spends some time pointing out various things that are common to all of America. During the 20th century, the companies that form today began growing and accelerating their expansion into global markets, and later on they used the proceeds of their activities to secure ownership positions or act as shareholders at prominent American institutions. Koch Industries' operations included the production and sale of fertilisers, oil, plastics, industrial machinery, chemicals, and telecommunications equipment based in different cities across the United States. However, Christopher Leonard conducts a series of inquiries and studies that conclude that the income source did not just sustain the operation but created even more a troublesome value chain at one stage.
