She needed him gone back to journey during the last fortnight in 2415 and prevent the devastating conflict that would ensue, which, it transpired, would set the stage for the devastation of the whole region of Islebale at large. That would be the destruction of the society in place, breaking every link to its previous existence.The crossing of time accentuated Tobias' already adolescent appearance, but he, counting on luck and walking power to keep his age doubled, agreed.Once there he found that Mearnan was already assassinated and the court had fallen, with only the young Princess Sofja surviving. Tobias, barely a man but now an adult of body, must somehow remain in the position render her safe against the many assailants on the loose, in so doing perhaps carving out a future within the destroyed past.
